FROM DATA TO MICROBIAL CLIQUES

Start by uploading your taxonomic data via the graphical interface. Our probabilistic learning procedure will uncover a set of microbial cliques representing the biological processes or mechanisms in your data. Discovery will automatically establish the optimal number of cliques and generate a robust solution.

MICROBIAL CLIQUES

Species or taxa belonging to the same clique are either directly interacting with one another or functionally related. The composition of each microbial clique and its internal structure reveals precious information about these microbial interactions. In addition, microbial cliques offer an easy way to deduce previously  unknown roles for species.  Discovery also accounts for microbial entities that play a role in multiple processes by assigning them to multiple cliques.

Each sample can now be represented as a mixture of cliques or, better said, as a mixture of biological processes. In this new representation the complexity associated with highly-dimensional microbiome data is solved and the noise removed. Samples can now speak to you directly or can become informative input for downstream analyses. Microbial cliques can also evolve over time or depend on metadata, allowing to answer a wide range of research questions. Finally, as a generative model Discovery allows to generate metagenomic profiles starting from a specified set of microbial cliques.
